where storytellers come to play
~ P L A Y P R O G R A M ~
The Juice Collective PLAY PROGRAM is a pilot program for storytellers to come together in the name of play, fun, and exploration, nurturing each other’s storytelling spark. It’s a space where we can relax, be in our element, doing what we love—simply for the joy of it.
Welcome! I’m Sherren Lee, a filmmaker here in Toronto. For over 15 years, I’ve been directing and writing with one goal in mind: connection. I’m obsessed with how stories can bridge us to each other, making us feel a little less alone. As creatives, we work in industries that can grind us down, and it's easy to forget that we don’t need permission to do what we love and do best. That’s why nurturing our creative selves—and doing it together—is so important. We need community, laughter, and those real, heart-deep connections that feed our spirits and fuel our drive. When we find the joy and value of being storytellers, we uplift ourselves, unlock true connection with others, and are empowered to tell the stories we want to tell.
This program is about getting out of your head and letting go of outcomes. Rather than refining existing ideas, it’s about keeping our creative juices flowing with open, playful experimentation. We will make room for spontaneity, for the unexpected, and for the discovery of each other and ourselves.
Through games and exercises, we’ll ask: What does it mean to be human, and what emotions lie beneath our stories? What makes a story resonate and stir feelings in others? How can these reflections translate into practical storytelling tools? Together, we’ll dig into the mechanics and psychology of story—how do we create moments that engage and connect on a deeper emotional level? What can we uncover about ourselves through our stories, and how can we support each other’s quest to recognize the power of our voices?
I’m looking for 4-5 adventurous people eager to embark on this journey with me, where we’ll build genuine connections and rediscover the pure thrill of storytelling together. I imagine we will laugh and squeal a lot.
Ok, so what are the deets?
